My Visit to DestinationDad

Sears wants you to honor dad this Father’s Day through “Snap Your ‘Stache” – a nationwide search for the greatest mustache. What does that mean? Check out this video.

Now through June 15, moms and kids can take a photo of dad’s mustache – or he can snap a mustache selfie – and share it at Sears.com/DestinationDad.com for a chance to win the ultimate Father’s Day gift – a trip to the Craftsman MAKEcation where he’ll meet a celebrity and learn to make whiskey, roll cigars, grill steaks, and amass survival skills.

Don’t have a stache? Get creative and draw one on, use a sticker or hold something to create your best ‘stache. Plus, everyone who enters will receive $5 in Shop Your Way points to use on the perfect Father’s Day gift. Plus, Shop Your Way members can vote for their favorite mustache submission, which will enter them into a sweepstakes for 250,000 in points (a value of $250).

The Captain is the “Captain of Selfies”, so he decided to give this one a go for himself.  And so began a journey to my local Sears, mustache on my lip, and cell phone in pocket, The Captain strolled the aisles of Sears and gazed at the numerous items that many dads would love as a gift.

One of the first items I saw was the  Samsung 46″ LED HDTV.  Nice big screen to watch movies, sports – wait who am I kidding?  It’s the perfect sized screen to watch all the movies and shows that your kids love to watch over, and over, and over again.  And that’s all good.

Sears is also a great spot to check out tools. One of the big items on many wish lists is the  Craftsman 263 PC Mechanics Tool Set.  My location was sold out of them, but there is a wide range of Craftsman (and other brand) tools available to help you with whatever home project on which you may be working.  tools
Not everything is about work at DestinationDad.  I found my old friend Tinkerbell who was willing to sit on my back deck, but we had a little disagreement about the amount of Pixie Dust that she was spreading around.  We decided to be pen pals instead.  TB
During my travels, I stumbled upon a headphone set meant for gamers.  I’m not a gamer because I don’t have a system, but I had to try the piece on anyways.  There’s even a microphone that you can use to talk smack to your opponent while beating them in the game of your choice. I just like to wear them and pretend I am a flight controller.

headphonesWho doesn’t like a grill?  This Kenmore grill is substantially big – it even comes with a shelf.  It is amazing! There is enough space to prepare, cook, and serve a feast fit for a King, Queen, Captain, whatever.

grillWalking through the DestinationDad location is a workout, but in case you want to go above and beyond, there is a plethora of exercise equipment available to keep dad (and everyone else) healthy, strong, flexible, and fit.  Here I am preparing for the dad Mr. Olympia competition. Bi’s and Tri’s.  Couldn’t take a picture of my traps because they are too big.

My trip was a lot of fun, but the questions remains – can you selfie like The Captain?

Disclosure: I partnered with Sears and Life of Dad, LLC for this Father’s Day promotion and was compensated for my involvement.
